Bog type plants (venus fly traps, butterworts, ect.) need a smaller particle size. Succulents and cactus do well with the coarse #3 size (this product). The larger size is perfect for plants needing faster drainage, more air, and larger pots. Custom potting soil - Mix 30% - 50% with peat moss, or compost, or special soil.
